The Manipur Police carried out multiple operations on Saturday, arresting five individuals involved in mobile theft, cyber fraud, extortion, and militancy across Senapati, Imphal, and surrounding areas.
Two young offenders, Linai Mercy (19) and Siipfiine (18), were arrested under Senapati Police Station for a series of mobile thefts and online fraud activities.
Additionally, two active female members of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) were apprehended near the Indo-Myanmar border, between Sunrise Ground and Gate No. 2, Moreh. They have been identified as Akoijam Sakhenbi (23) and Chongtham Hembaby (17).
In a separate operation, PREPAK (Pro) cadres were arrested:
Sorokhaibam Ranjit Singh (41) was apprehended from Khabam Lamkhai with mobile headsets and an Aadhaar card.
Ingudam Ingocha Singh (50), alias Borobi, was arrested from Napetpalli. Authorities seized a .32 pistol with five rounds, ten PREPAK (Pro) visiting cards, a Honda Activa scooter, Rs 600 in cash, and a mobile phone.
An active Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) cadre, Khetics Thongbam (19), was also apprehended at his residence, with a mobile phone and Aadhaar card recovered.
These coordinated arrests mark a significant step by the Manipur Police in tackling cybercrime, organized theft, and militant activity across the state.
