Security forces in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district conducted a major anti-narcotics operation on Thursday, seizing heroin worth crores of rupees and Rs 99.1 lakh in cash while arresting four individuals. The operation took place in T Khullen village under Kangpokpi Police Station and targeted a suspected drug trafficking network.

The arrested individuals have been identified as S Poubinah Teinamei (31), PF Adaphro (34), and S Boibina (29), all residents of T Khullen, along with Lungdinibou Thiumei (52) from Khundong Khunkhaiba in Tamenglong district.

Officials said the operation led to the recovery of 273 soap cases filled with heroin, weighing approximately 3.5 kg, alongside unaccounted cash totaling Rs 99,09,850. Authorities also seized seven mobile phones and two vehicles, a DI and a car, reportedly used for transporting the drugs.

Authorities are investigating the source and intended destination of the seized contraband. The arrests mark a significant blow to organized drug trafficking networks in the region, and security forces are working to identify other members of the network.

Officials emphasized that the crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to curb narcotics operations and dismantle illegal drug supply chains across Manipur.
