Manipur Police Arrest 4 for Illegal Poppy Cultivation in Kangpokpi

Janggoulen Kipgen and Others Arrested in Drug Trafficking Bust

On March 29, Manipur Police arrested four individuals involved in the illegal cultivation of poppy in Songjang village, located in Kangpokpi district. The arrests were part of an ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking in the region.

The arrested cultivators have been identified as Janggoulen Kipgen (41), Letginlal Kipgen (41), Kamginlen Kipgen (25), and Thangminlen Kipgen (34). They were apprehended in connection with a case registered at the Kangpokpi police station related to illegal poppy cultivation, a significant source of narcotics in the area.

The police are continuing their investigation as part of efforts to combat the illegal drug trade in Manipur.
