Manipal Police Arrest Manjunath Narateli, Two Others in Theft Case

Rs 60,000 stolen from two shops; vehicle used in crime seized

: In a breakthrough operation, Manipal police arrested three individuals for their involvement in two thefts that occurred within the Manipal police station limits on the night of October 31, 2024.

The suspects reportedly broke into Beck Lane Bakery in Shivalli village and Adishakti General Stores in Eshwar Nagar, stealing approximately Rs 60,000 in cash. The method of entry involved lifting the shutters of the stores. Following the incidents, two separate FIRs were registered at the Manipal police station.

Led by Inspector T V Devaraj, and supported by Sub-Inspector Akshaya Kumari and Assistant Sub-Inspectors Vivekananda, Prasanna Kumar, Imran, Raghu, and Manjunath, the police team apprehended the accused on November 6, 2024, near Shimbra Bridge in Manipal.

The arrested individuals have been identified as:

Manjunath Chidanandappa Narateli (24), from Gajendragad, Koppal district

Prasad (22), from Hattiyangadi, Udupi district

Kishan (20), also from Hattiyangadi, Udupi district

In addition to the arrests, police also seized a car worth Rs 5 lakh, which was allegedly used in the crime. The trio has been placed under judicial custody pending further investigation.

The successful operation highlights the efficiency of the local police in swiftly solving theft cases and ensuring justice for affected businesses.
