Manhattan Woman Arrested for Forgery and Identity Theft

Sarah Sessin faces charges of forgery, identity theft, and interference with law enforcement

MANHATTAN, KS — A Manhattan woman, 37-year-old Sarah Sessin, was arrested early Wednesday morning on multiple criminal charges including forgery, identity theft, and interference with law enforcement. According to local authorities, Sessin was apprehended on probable cause for offenses related to making false statements and altering written documents to cause economic or bodily harm.

Sessin is accused of committing forgery by making or altering a written instrument and misrepresenting information with the intent to obstruct justice. She was also charged with identity theft, where she allegedly used another person’s identity to cause significant financial damage in excess of $100,000.

In addition to the forgery and identity theft charges, Sessin faces accusations of interfering with law enforcement by falsely reporting information in a way that hindered police investigation efforts.

Sessin was booked into Riley County Jail at approximately 1 a.m. on Wednesday, with a bond set at $15,000. She remains in custody as of this report, pending further legal proceedings.
