ODESSA, Texas — A known narcotics suspect, Mandy Lea Stanton, formerly Mandy Lea Clark, was arrested Tuesday on drug-related charges, marking her third arrest this year involving controlled substances, according to the Odessa Police Department.
Stanton was under active investigation as a known drug dealer operating from her residence on Magill Avenue. Detectives observed her leaving the home and riding a motorcycle. Through prior knowledge, they confirmed her identity and checked her status in the National Crime Information Center, which revealed she did not have a motorcycle license.
A traffic stop was initiated in the 4700 block of Andrews Highway, but Stanton initially refused to pull over, continuing to drive and bypassing multiple safe stopping areas. She eventually stopped in the 100 block of East 52nd Street.
During the stop, she was unable to provide a driver’s license and was arrested. A search uncovered a foil packet containing suspected fentanyl powder in her possession. Stanton reportedly admitted under Miranda to purchasing the powder, believing it to be one gram.
Police noted that .1 grams is the common dosage for street use, making her 1.90 grams (weighed on an uncertified scale) consistent with intent to distribute. Investigators also found a digital scale in her purse — a tool frequently used in drug trafficking.
Stanton now faces charges of:
Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance
Operating a Motorcycle Without a License
She is currently held under U.S. Marshals custody on a $25,191 bond.
Records show she was also arrested in February and June for similar drug offenses, including possession of a controlled substance, a State Jail Felony.
