In a shocking case of betrayal, a 30-year-old man was arrested for stealing Rs70,000 in cash and jewellery from his own mother in Dogra Tola village, Shahdol district. The man, Rangu (30), and his accomplice Ramchandra (31), were taken into custody by Sidhi police following the theft.
On May 1, Rangu’s 55-year-old mother filed a complaint with the police, stating that ₹70,000 in cash and valuable jewellery, including 18 old silver coins, had been stolen from her house. Suspecting her son of the crime, she reported the matter to the authorities.
Sidhi Police Station Incharge, Rajkumar Mishra, confirmed that police acted swiftly, arresting the accused and his accomplice. They managed to recover the entire stolen amount and jewellery. The police investigation revealed that Rangu had committed the theft with the belief that his mother would pass on all her savings to his sister, leaving him without a share.
Interestingly, Rangu lives in a different house in the same village, while his parents reside separately. This crime shocked the community, as it involved the betrayal of a mother by her own son.
Investigations are ongoing as police continue to probe the motive and any potential further connections to the crime.
