Man Ordered to Pay Compensation for Damaging Surrey Church with a Brick

Richard Fradley, 34, arrested for criminal damage after smashing doors and glass at St Peters Shared Church

A 34-year-old man, Richard Fradley, has been ordered to pay £100 in compensation after damaging a church in Surrey by smashing its doors and a glass pane with a brick. The incident occurred on Friday, January 24, at St Peters Shared Church in Addlestone.

Police were called to the church after staff discovered the damage. Upon arrival, they found Fradley still inside the church, where he had fallen asleep. Fradley was arrested on the spot for criminal damage.

He appeared in court on Monday, January 27, where he was ordered to pay £100 in compensation for the damage caused. An application for a benefit deduction and a collection order has also been made to ensure payment.
