NICHOLAS COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — James Anthony Dodrill, 39, of Mt. Lookout, has been charged with second-degree murder following the fatal shooting of Porschia Selman, 31, at a trailer park in Nicholas County on March 29.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Nicholas County Magistrate Court, troopers responded to a home on Buddy Lane after reports of a shooting. Dodrill admitted to West Virginia State Police that he had accused Selman of cheating on him, which led to an argument between the two.

The situation escalated when Dodrill allegedly shot Selman in the head with a handgun. Her body was found inside the trailer. Investigators noted that both Dodrill and Selman had used methamphetamine prior to the argument.

Dodrill is currently being held at the Central Regional Jail without bond, awaiting further court proceedings.
