Detectives investigating the death of a 23-year-old woman in Nottinghamshire have charged a man with murder.
Stephanie Irons was found dead after emergency services were called to a property on Westdale Lane West, Mapperley, at 10.07pm on Tuesday. Police have said the victim and the suspect were known to each other.
Adedapo Adegbola, 40, of Woodborough Road, Mapperley, was arrested on Wednesday and formally charged with murder on Friday. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
A 40-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has since been released on strict bail conditions, Nottinghamshire Police confirmed.
Detective Inspector Stuart Barson, the senior investigating officer, described the incident as tragic and said specially trained officers are supporting Stephanie’s family and friends, who have requested privacy.
