A man has been arrested on suspicion of helping a suspect wanted over the fatal stabbing of 19-year-old Yassin Alama.
Mr Alama was found with serious injuries on Hutton Road, Lozells, on Sunday. Several attempts have been made to arrest 17-year-old Oumar Traore in connection with the killing.
The 20-year-old was arrested around 13:00 GMT in Birmingham on suspicion of assisting an offender, West Midlands Police said.
Jenny Birch, from the force’s homicide team, urged Traore to hand himself in, adding: “Anyone who is helping him evade capture also faces arrest.”
She also said: “Yassin’s family have been left absolutely devastated by what has happened, and we are continuing to update them and support them as our investigation continues. We have officers working around the clock to locate and arrest Traore.”
Police have asked anyone with information on Traore’s whereabouts to contact West Midlands Police immediately.
