A 24-year-old man, Saravana Kumar, was arrested in Paruvai, Tiruppur district, for allegedly killing his sister over her relationship with a collegemate.
Police reported that Saravana Kumar attacked his 21-year-old sister, Vidhya, a first-year postgraduate student at Government Arts College, Coimbatore. Vidhya was in a relationship with Venmani, also from Tiruppur district, which Saravana Kumar strongly opposed.
Authorities revealed that Vidhya had not communicated with her brother for the last two months, following the familial conflict over her relationship.
The police are investigating the case further.
