A man who had previously trespassed into Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic bungalow Mannat in Mumbai in 2023 has now been arrested in Gujarat for a theft case. Ram Swaroop Kushwaha (21) was apprehended by the Bharuch police on Wednesday in connection with a theft at the residence of a retired Army jawan in the city.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police CK Patel, Kushwaha and another individual allegedly broke into the jawan’s house and stole gold and silver items worth over Rs 2.74 lakh. The duo managed to steal the valuables four days ago.

Kushwaha reportedly confessed to his involvement in the 2023 trespassing incident at Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow in Bandra, Mumbai. He stated that he and an accomplice had scaled the high outer wall of Khan’s mansion but were apprehended by the actor’s security staff before they could do any further damage. Following the incident, a case of trespassing was registered against them under the Indian Penal Code at the Bandra police station.

The police have also recovered the stolen items, which were worth Rs 2.74 lakh, from Kushwaha and his partner, Minhaz Sindha. The duo was detained on March 2, 2023, after being caught on the premises of Mannat. The arrest in Gujarat brings closure to the theft case, while the earlier trespassing case in Mumbai remains under investigation.
