In a recent operation, Shankaranarayana police successfully busted a racket involved in stealing diesel from tankers. The police, acting on a tip-off, raided a service station at Subbarao Complex in Siddapura village on the night of March 10 and arrested Jayaram, who was caught siphoning diesel.

The police’s investigation revealed that the culprits were stealing around 20 liters of diesel from each tanker and supplying it to a person named Vijay, based in Siddapura. However, Vijay managed to escape before the raid took place.

During the operation, authorities seized 1,020 liters of stolen diesel, 30 liters of petrol, three pipes, and a lift motor, which were used for extracting the diesel. A case has been filed at the Shankaranarayana police station, and the investigation is ongoing.
