Man Arrested for Robbing Victim After Meeting on Grindr in Filmnagar

Farhan Baig lured victim through dating app, robbed him of Rs 10,000

In a shocking incident, a youngster was arrested by the Filmnagar police after he robbed a man he befriended on the popular LGBTQ dating app, Grindr. The accused, Farhan Baig (25), a resident of Dabeerpura, lured a 22-year-old victim to a house in Filmnagar under false pretenses.

Once the victim arrived, Farhan threatened him and forced him to transfer Rs 10,000 to his e-wallet. After the robbery, the victim managed to leave the house and later filed a complaint with the police. Acting on the complaint, the police swiftly apprehended Farhan, and he was subsequently remanded.

This incident highlights the risks associated with online dating platforms and serves as a reminder to exercise caution while interacting with strangers on such apps. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
