A 24-year-old man from Vinay Khand was arrested by Gomtinagar police following a viral video showing him enticing stray dogs with food and then inflicting cruelty upon them on the night of August 7. The disturbing footage was captured by a passerby and shared widely on social media, prompting the head of an animal welfare NGO to file a formal complaint.
Recognizing the severity of the offense, police registered the case under stringent legal provisions. B C Tiwari, SHO of Gomtinagar, confirmed the arrest and emphasized the strict action taken against the accused.
