Waterbury, Conn. — Two individuals were arrested in Waterbury following a drug investigation, according to police. Maliek Johnson, 30, and Charmaine Reed, 32, both from Waterbury, were taken into custody at 122 Cooke St. after a search of the property revealed a significant amount of narcotics.
During the search, officers discovered crack cocaine, 133 bags of heroin, and drug paraphernalia. Johnson was seen entering a vehicle driven by Reed, prompting further investigation that led to their arrests.
Johnson faces multiple charges, including operating a drug factory and two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell. Reed was charged with operating a drug factory, two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell, assault on a police officer, interfering with a police officer, and several traffic-related violations, including failure to carry an insurance card and failure to wear safety belts.
