MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man wanted for murder in Mississippi has been captured in Memphis, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
Malcolm Kohn was wanted in connection with the August 4 shooting of Joshua Brewer, who was gunned down in front of his business in Greenwood, Mississippi. Brewer was rushed to a local hospital but later died from his injuries. A murder warrant for Kohn was issued the following day, on August 5.
The Marshals’ Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force learned that Kohn had fled to Memphis and coordinated with the Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Memphis Police Department’s Fugitive Apprehension Team.
On Wednesday, officers located Kohn hiding under a bed at a home on Greer Street in the Orange Mound neighborhood. He initially refused to surrender but gave up after officers deployed K-9 Marko.
Kohn was taken into custody and booked at 201 Poplar, where he awaits extradition back to Mississippi.
