Malaysian pop singer Wan Norshaheeda Azlin Binti Wan Ismail, better known by her stage name Eda Ezrin, has been arrested in Thailand’s Narathiwat province after authorities found over 6,000 methamphetamine tablets. The 29-year-old artist was detained on Friday, along with five other Malaysians, in a hotel located in Sungai Kolok district.
The group was reportedly found in possession of 6,060 methamphetamine tablets. Following their arrest, all six suspects tested positive for drug use, according to local police sources. They have now been charged with drug use and distribution.
In addition, two members of the group were charged with illegal entry into Thailand, as their passports had not been properly stamped by Malaysian or Thai immigration authorities.
Hundreds of Eda Ezrin’s fans and family members gathered outside the police station in Sungai Kolok on Monday, expressing their support for the singer. The incident has garnered significant attention, and authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
This arrest adds to a series of recent high-profile drug-related busts in the region.
