Maksud Agadjani Confronts Rival in NYC Jewelry Clash

Diamond District dispute sparks assault charges

A heated confrontation inside a Manhattan jewelry store escalated into a physical altercation after TraxNYC owner Maksud Agadjani accused a rival business of impersonation and customer fraud.

The incident occurred Friday afternoon in New York City’s Diamond District, where TraxNYC and AKAY Diamonds operate within the same building. Agadjani, 39, shared multiple videos on social media showing him confronting an employee linked to AKAY Diamonds, a business owned by brothers George Akay, 46, and Freddy Akay, 42, both from New Jersey.

According to police, the Akay brothers were charged with assault following the incident.

In the videos, which quickly spread across social media and reached Agadjani’s 3.5 million followers, he alleged that the rival company falsely used the TraxNYC name to sell gold jewelry that did not meet the advertised quality standards.

Agadjani claimed a customer seeking TraxNYC products was told by AKAY Diamonds staff that their jewelry was of identical quality. He later alleged that testing revealed the bracelet sold was 10-karat gold rather than the 14-karat gold the customer believed he had purchased.

In follow-up footage, Agadjani displayed what he said was a receipt from the rival company, accusing it of misleading customers and repeatedly misrepresenting products. He stated that he had tolerated the behavior in the past but decided to confront it directly this time.

The situation intensified as Agadjani documented what he said was a refund for the affected customer, along with an additional $1,000 payment, while continuing to criticize the rival business.

The incident has drawn widespread attention online, highlighting the intense competition and disputes that can arise within New York City’s high-stakes jewelry industry.
