In a significant operation against drug trafficking, law enforcement officials conducted a raid in the Maheshkhola area this morning, resulting in the seizure of 1.06 lakh Yaba tablets, two motorcycles, and four mobile phones.
The West PS received confidential intelligence around 12 PM from a secret informant, alerting them to the illegal activities of Mohammad Babul Mia, a suspect from Maheshkhola. Acting quickly on this information, the police formed a team and launched a targeted raid.
During the operation, authorities arrested Shiban Hossain from Bishalgarh and Sanjay Mia from Chandni Mura. However, the prime suspect, Mohammad Babul Mia, remains at large. The total value of the seized contraband is estimated to be over five crore taka in the illegal market.
SP West, Kiran, confirmed the operation’s success, stating, “Based on the confidential information, we formed a team and seized over 1 lakh Yaba tablets along with two motorcycles and four mobile phones. We arrested two individuals but are still working to locate the prime suspect, Mohammad Babul Mia.”
This raid marks a crucial step in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the region. Authorities have urged the public to report any suspicious activities to help maintain law and order.
