A 30-year-old man from Augusta, Maine, has been arrested on multiple charges after police discovered drugs and a firearm during a traffic stop on I-95 in Kittery late Wednesday night.
According to authorities, Eric Bachard was pulled over for multiple traffic violations around 11:40 p.m. Police say a subsequent investigation led to the discovery of 21.65 grams of crystal meth, 19 Suboxone strips, and a firearm inside Bachard’s vehicle.
Bachard was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs, unlawful possession, felon in possession of a firearm, and operating after license revocation habitual offender. He is currently being held at the York County Jail pending further proceedings.
The arrest underscores ongoing efforts by Maine law enforcement to curb drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession on state highways.
