Mahesh Pandey, a well-known scriptwriter in the Indian television industry, was detained by Mumbai police on charges of defrauding film producer Jatin Sethi of Rs 2.65 crore. Pandey, recognized for his iconic work on the TV series Kasautii Zindagi Kay, is now at the center of a legal controversy that has rocked the entertainment world.

According to reports, Jatin Sethi filed a complaint against Pandey, alleging that he breached the terms of a contract between their respective companies, leading to a substantial financial loss. Sethi claimed that Pandey’s company was supposed to pay him Rs 2.65 crore but failed to fulfill the payment. The alleged breach triggered a case of fraud, and Pandey was arrested by the Mumbai police on Wednesday.

The complaint further details how Pandey allegedly created a fake email account to forge communications with a broadcaster, misleading Sethi by claiming that the payment was delayed due to unforeseen issues. This has now escalated into a serious legal dispute, with Pandey facing severe allegations of financial misconduct.
