Bengaluru police have arrested Madan, a 37-year-old man from Banaswadi, for allegedly sexually harassing two women in separate incidents last week in the Pulakeshinagar area.
According to authorities, Madan, a BSc Computer Science graduate who recently resigned from a software company, forcefully kissed a woman near a grocery store on Milton Street on June 6 before fleeing the scene. He then reportedly followed another woman to a nearby park and inappropriately hugged her from behind.
Both victims lodged complaints, leading to FIRs under Sections 74 and 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), covering assault with intent to outrage modesty and sexual harassment. CCTV footage in the area helped police identify Madan.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), D Devaraja, stated that Madan may have committed similar acts in the vicinity. During questioning, he remained uncooperative, while sources revealed he reportedly has a pornography addiction. Investigators are continuing to probe whether Madan was involved in other similar incidents in the past.
