Machilipatnam Police have arrested five individuals, including three minors, allegedly involved in a series of housebreaking thefts, recovering gold and silver articles valued at Rs 10.20 lakh.
The gang is accused of stealing valuables from multiple homes, including a recent case on July 6 in RTC Colony. Victims Mahankali Guru Teja Sharma and Mopidevi Venkata Satya Srinivas had left their homes locked while attending a religious ritual. Upon return, they found cupboards and locks broken with valuables missing.
Police investigations led to the detention of Kokkiligadda Ramu, Valluru Santosh, and three minors from Machilipatnam. Using advanced technical surveillance, the police successfully traced and apprehended the accused.
Under the direction of Krishna District SP R Gangadhara Rao, a special operation was launched led by Bandar DSP Chappidi Raja and R Pet Inspector K Yesubabu. Special teams were deployed to track down the suspects, culminating in their arrest and subsequent judicial remand.
The accused reportedly spent the stolen money on personal luxuries. The DSP commended the team’s efficient work and awarded them for their exemplary performance in solving the cases.
