KINGSBURG, Calif. (FOX26) — A Kingsburg man has been arrested and charged with murder following a deadly assault on Friday night.
Authorities say 38-year-old Luis Rodriguez has been charged in connection with the death of 25-year-old Alvaro Hernandez Jr., also of Kingsburg.
At around 10:30 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a report of a man suffering from severe trauma near 7th Avenue and Nevada Street. The victim, Hernandez, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office took over the investigation and quickly identified Rodriguez as the prime suspect. Detectives tracked him down and arrested him in Selma on Tuesday, July 22.
Rodriguez was booked into the Fresno County Jail and is being held on a $1 million bond. He faces one count of murder in connection with the fatal assault.
