NEWARK, N.J. — Ludwin Quintero-Rojas, a 31-year-old Colombian national, has been arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations in Newark on May 9, 2025, due to a criminal warrant in his home country for aggravated theft and attempted theft with injury.
Quintero-Rojas, who is in the United States illegally, was detained at the Delaney Hall Detention Facility without bond. His history of arrests in the U.S. includes several theft-related incidents across New York and New Jersey.
September 18, 2023: Quintero-Rojas was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol in El Paso, Texas, and was served with a notice to appear. He was subsequently released on recognizance, awaiting further proceedings.
January 13, 2024: Arrested by the New York City Police Department for petit larceny.
July 5, 2024: Convicted by the Queens County Criminal Court for disorderly conduct and sentenced to a conditional discharge.
April 2025: Arrested multiple times for shoplifting across Lacey, Howell, and Marlboro Township, New Jersey. He was convicted for one of these incidents on May 1, 2025, and sentenced to 10 days of community service.
May 2, 2025: Arrested for shoplifting in Brick Township, with charges still pending.
Quintero-Rojas is scheduled for a hearing before the Executive Office for Immigration Review in Elizabeth, New Jersey, on May 22, 2025.
