A man has been arrested and charged with attempted capital murder after allegedly shooting a Danville police officer during an interview on February 17, 2025.
The suspect, 47-year-old Lucas Jason Degier, was being questioned by authorities in connection to a hit-and-run crash when the violent attack occurred. During the interview, Degier suddenly shot Officer Kayla Robinson, who was investigating the incident.
