LACEY, Wash. — A 46-year-old man, identified as Lucas Clay Garrison, has been arrested in connection with a vehicle prowl and theft in a residential neighborhood of Lacey.
According to a Lacey Police Department report, officers responded to a theft call on Thursday, October 9, after two vehicles parked outside a home on Wallingford Lane NE were found entered without force.
The victims reported several items stolen, including about $200 in cash, jewelry worth $1,200, and two credit or debit cards. One of the stolen cards was later used at a gas station on Marvin Road NE.
Through surveillance footage and witness statements, investigators identified Garrison, described as a transient living at Maple Court, an enhanced shelter facility.
Police said Garrison attempted to use one of the stolen cards at a Shell station, but the transaction was declined. Another man, reportedly associated with Garrison, successfully completed a purchase using the same card.
When officers located Garrison near Maple Court, he was found with cash, jewelry, and other stolen property. During questioning, he admitted his involvement and revealed he had hidden a ring in his shoe — later confirmed by the victim as her missing wedding ring.
Garrison was booked on charges of second-degree theft, forgery, and possession of stolen property. Additional controlled substance possession charges were referred to prosecutors after police discovered prescription medication belonging to another person in his possession.
The Lacey Police Department continues to investigate possible connections between Garrison and other theft cases in the area.
