Lubbock Man Arrested for Assault and Theft

Armando Galvan faces multiple charges including aggravated assault

LUBBOCK, Texas — Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault, Theft, and Resisting Arrest

Lubbock police arrested 24-year-old Armando Galvan on Sunday following a violent incident in the 2400 block of Cornell Street. Officers responded to a civil disturbance and found a large crowd engaged in a fight.

According to an affidavit obtained by EverythingLubbock.com, Galvan allegedly grabbed a glass bottle or cup and smashed it over a victim’s head, injuring the victim’s hand. Officers had to physically restrain Galvan after he refused to cooperate with law enforcement.

A records check revealed that Galvan had an outstanding warrant issued on October 22 for third-degree theft involving amounts between $30,000 and $150,000.

Galvan was taken into custody and booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center on bonds totaling $88,500.

Police have not released further details regarding any additional charges related to the Sunday incident.
