LSU’s J.T. Lindsey Arrested for Accessory in Murder Case
Freshman RB denies knowledge of harboring murder suspects in dorm
BATON ROUGE, La. — LSU freshman running back J.T. Lindsey surrendered to authorities after being charged with accessory after the fact for allegedly harboring two men accused of murder in his dormitory.
The two suspects, Shemell Jacobs, 17, and Keldrick Jordan, 18, were wanted for armed robbery and second-degree murder connected to a May killing in Alexandria, Louisiana. They were apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service on Monday inside the LSU dorms.
Lindsey was arrested on Friday but released on a $5,000 bond the same day.
An affidavit revealed Jacobs had Lindsey’s school ID and his dorm PIN, allowing access to the apartment. Surveillance showed Lindsey and the suspects together as early as July 24.
Lindsey’s attorney, Kris Perret, stated his client was unaware that Jacobs and Jordan were wanted for murder or any crimes. Lindsey has maintained his innocence and is cooperating fully with the investigation.
Perret emphasized, “There are no allegations that JT Lindsey was involved in or connected to the crimes committed by the arrested individuals. He did not harbor or aid them knowingly.”
LSU confirmed awareness of the arrest but declined further comment due to ongoing legal proceedings. Lindsey has been suspended for now.
The 4-star recruit from Alexandria was among the top running backs signed by LSU for the Class of 2025.
