Low Saechao, Taylor Walters Tied to Major Redding Drug, Gun Bust

Police seize $465K, 41 guns, and illegal marijuana grows

REDDING, Calif. — The Redding Police Department (RPD) has seized over $465,000 in cash, 41 firearms, and large quantities of marijuana following two separate investigations tied to illegal cannabis cultivation and weapons violations.

On Friday, RPD served a search warrant at a home in the 3100 block of Jordan Drive. Inside, officers uncovered a sophisticated illegal marijuana grow, complete with unpermitted structures that posed serious fire risks to nearby homes. Police said the home was being used exclusively for cultivation.

The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Low Saechao of Redding, was later connected to a second residence in the 3000 block of Montana Sky Drive. There, police discovered 21 pounds of processed cannabis, items consistent with drug sales, 41 firearms — several of which were not California compliant — and over $465,000 in vacuum-sealed U.S. currency hidden inside a safe. All firearms and cash were seized as evidence related to narcotics trafficking. Saechao was booked on charges related to cannabis sales and multiple firearm violations.

In a separate case, RPD served a warrant at a home in the 5500 block of Millpond Lane, also tied to illegal marijuana cultivation. Officers discovered another sophisticated grow site housed in an unpermitted garage structure. The residence was identified as belonging to 38-year-old Taylor Walters of Redding, a convicted felon from a prior domestic violence case. Inside, police located multiple firearms stored in an unsecured safe — a direct violation, as Walters is prohibited from possessing weapons or ammunition.

A follow-up warrant was executed at Walters’ personal home in the 2800 block of Smith River Drive, where yet another illegal indoor grow was located in the garage. Walters was not present at the time.

Both investigations remain active and have been referred to the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office for review and prosecution.
