London, UK — Three men from south-east London have been found guilty of conspiring to murder cage fighter Paul Allen, who was shot in the neck at his home in Woodford Green on July 11, 2019.
Louis Ahearne, Daniel Kelly, and Stewart Ahearne were convicted following a five-week trial at the Old Bailey. They will be sentenced on April 25.
Background of the Crime
Paul Allen, 47, was left paralysed after the attack, which prosecutors alleged was linked to his involvement in serious organized crime.
Jurors heard that a month before the shooting, Kelly and the Ahearne brothers carried out a high-profile burglary at the Museum of Far Eastern Art in Geneva, Switzerland, where they stole valuable Chinese Ming Dynasty artefacts.
The prosecution argued that the men were engaged in a sophisticated criminal operation and that the attempt on Allen’s life was part of a broader underworld dispute.
Trial & Conviction
After reviewing evidence, including forensic material, phone records, and witness testimony, the jury found all three men guilty of conspiracy to murder.
They are now awaiting sentencing at the Old Bailey on April 25.
