ODESSA, Texas – A 21-year-old Odessa man has been arrested in connection with a February shooting that left two women injured near Skateland Rollerink.
According to the Ector County Sheriff’s Office, ambulance crews and deputies responded to a gunshot victim call at 4 a.m. on February 28 at the roller rink on West University. Upon arrival, authorities learned that two victims had already been transported to Medical Center Hospital.
One of the victims, an 18-year-old woman, told deputies she had been sitting in a car when the driver—whom she knew as Lorenzo or “Zoe”—became upset because his girlfriend wanted to go home.
At one point, Lorenzo stopped the car and got out, prompting the woman to jump into the driver’s seat. She then saw Lorenzo open fire on the vehicle multiple times, striking her in the left shin. She managed to drive away despite her injuries.
Deputies recovered 9mm rounds inside the vehicle, and the second victim, also 18, provided authorities with a video capturing Lorenzo’s face.
Following an investigation, authorities obtained a warrant for Lorenzo’s arrest, and he was taken into custody on Saturday, March 22. He now faces multiple charges related to the shooting.
