EL PASO, Texas — A 68-year-old registered sex offender, Lorenzo Davila, has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and sexually abusing a woman in the Horizon City area, authorities announced.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office began investigating after receiving a report of unlawful restraint and assault around 4:30 p.m. on July 23. The woman told deputies she had been abducted by a man and taken to an unknown desert location, where she was sexually assaulted.

Investigators identified the suspect as Lorenzo Davila, a previously convicted sex offender required to register for life following a 2015 sexual assault conviction in Midland. Following an extensive search, Davila was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Jail. Jail records list the date of the alleged assault as July 22.

Attorney Eduardo Solis, representing Davila, could not be reached for comment.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with additional information to contact the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
