Long Beach Man Arrested in Bakersfield for Sexual Assault and Auto Theft

Javier Pizarro Quintero faces multiple serious charges after incident in downtown Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A 38-year-old man from Long Beach, Javier Pizarro Quintero, was arrested following a violent incident in downtown Bakersfield on August 29, 2025.

Police responded to a report of a recent auto theft and discovered that the victim had been forcibly sexually assaulted prior to being robbed and having their vehicle stolen.

The stolen vehicle was later located near the Tejon Outlets, where deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office found Quintero attempting to re-enter the car. He was taken into custody without incident.

The Bakersfield Police Department’s Special Victims Unit has taken over the investigation. Quintero is currently booked in Kern County Jail facing charges including false imprisonment, rape by force or fear, burglary, grand theft, possession of stolen property, possession of a stolen vehicle, obstruction of a wireless device, and grand theft auto.

The investigation is ongoing.
