Lokanath Nag Held for Rs1.56 Cr Online Gaming Scam

Accused bought 2BHK in Jamshedpur with duped money

The Crime Branch of Odisha Police has arrested a 45-year-old man, Lokanath Nag of Sonari village, Jharkhand, for cheating a victim out of Rs1.56 crore through online gaming and fake investment platforms.

Nag was arrested from Room No. 305 of a hotel in Cuttack while allegedly planning to defraud the victim further. He was forwarded to the Designated Court under the OPID Act in Cuttack.
The arrest followed a probe initiated on July 7, 2025, under CID CB Police Station Case No.05, registered under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS-2023), OPID Act 2011, and the Prize Chits & Money Circulation Schemes (Banning) Act, 1978.

Investigators revealed that Nag duped victims via platforms such as:

Bounty Game

Ubitcoin staking opportunity

Ride BNB

HAHM

Nag promised high returns in just two months through these apps, posing as a networking business partner.
