A man was arrested Wednesday night after leading Moore County deputies on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash.
According to Moore County Detention Center records, 46-year-old Lo-ren Ellis of Aberdeen faces twelve charges following the pursuit.
The chase started around 7:30 p.m. near N.C. Highway 73 and U.S. Highway 15-501 in the Eastwood community when deputies attempted a traffic stop. Instead of pulling over, Ellis sped away, prompting a pursuit.
The chase ended when Ellis’s vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a tree. He then fled on foot, crossing a creek and entering a wooded area but was captured within minutes.
Ellis now faces multiple charges, including possession with intent to sell cocaine, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a felon, fleeing to elude arrest, reckless driving, assault by pointing a gun, and more.
