LIVONIA, Mich. — A 44-year-old woman from Livonia has been arrested in connection with running a human trafficking operation across multiple massage businesses in the Detroit area. Zixuan Wan faces serious charges following a months-long investigation by the Farmington Hills Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies.
Wan was arrested after search warrants uncovered several human trafficking victims who were residing inside her businesses in Farmington Hills, Westland, and Commerce Township. The victims were rescued and placed into the care of the Common Ground and CARE House of Oakland County.
In addition to the human trafficking victims, investigators discovered multiple firearms and about $140,000 in cash. The investigation began in November 2024 when authorities were alerted to an unlicensed massage business offering illicit services. Police in Westland and the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office were also investigating Wan’s operations.
On March 5, investigators executed search warrants at the three businesses, Wan’s Livonia home, and multiple bank accounts linked to the operation. Authorities found evidence of a criminal enterprise and submitted their findings to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office, leading to the charges.
Wan has been charged with one count of human trafficking enterprise resulting in commercial sexual activity, one count of human trafficking enterprise, and one count of keeping a house of prostitution. Police Chief John Piggott praised the collaborative effort between agencies, emphasizing the importance of the investigation in rescuing vulnerable women from further exploitation.
Wan was arraigned last week and entered a not guilty plea. She was granted a $100,000 personal bond but must wear a GPS tether and surrender her passport. Her next court appearance is scheduled for March 21.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities indicate that additional charges may be filed.
