Four men linked to a notorious Liverpool organized crime family have been ordered to repay £190,000 or risk more prison time after a ruling under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) Proceeds of Crime Division secured Confiscation Orders against Richard Caswell (42), Michael Nevin (37), Jack Brownsill (25), and Scott Smith (51) at Manchester Crown Court on February 28 and March 3. All four worked for the Cox organized crime family, which has been involved in drug trafficking, robbery, and money laundering.
Crime and Sentencing
Richard Caswell took part in a £1.2 million cocaine robbery in May 2020 alongside Jason and Craig Cox. He was sentenced to seven years in 2023 for drug supply, possession of criminal property, and robbery conspiracy.
Michael Nevin was sentenced in 2022 to nine years and nine months for drug trafficking and possession of criminal property.
Jack Brownsill received four years and six months for cannabis supply and money laundering.
Scott Smith was handed a 22-month suspended sentence for money laundering.
