ROME, Ga. – Lisa Ann Smith, 58, of Buchanan, Georgia, was arrested after she allegedly stole over $500 worth of items from the East Rome Walmart. According to police reports, Smith was captured by security after attempting to leave the store with the stolen merchandise, valued at $529.71.
Before being taken into custody, Smith reportedly attempted to discard a bag containing methamphetamine. Authorities also noted that she provided officers with a false name during her arrest.
Smith now faces multiple charges, including felony theft by shoplifting, possession of methamphetamine, and giving false information to police.
