Rapper Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Armani Jones, was arrested in Las Vegas on Monday, August 26, after being accused of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. The 29-year-old star faces charges following the incident that occurred on South Las Vegas Boulevard at approximately 5 a.m.
According to court documents reviewed by PEOPLE, the rapper was taken into custody and later booked into the Clark County Detention Center. He posted bond and is scheduled to appear in court on October 1.
Lil Baby’s attorneys, Drew Findling and David Chesnoff, clarified in a statement to The Los Angeles Times that the rapper holds a valid Georgia Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) Permit. However, Nevada law does not recognize permits issued by Georgia. The legal team is investigating the circumstances surrounding the arrest.
Details surrounding the arrest remain limited, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police have not released further information.
