Lewiston Man Arrested After $100,000 Cocaine Seizure

LEWISTON, Maine (WGME) — A 36-year-old man from Lewiston, Steven Braggs, was arrested on drug trafficking charges after authorities seized over $100,000 worth of cocaine.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA) said the arrest followed a probation compliance check on Tuesday. Braggs, who was on supervised release from a 2015 federal conviction for being a felon in possession of a firearm, was located at a hotel in Lewiston, where authorities found him in possession of 100 grams of cocaine.

Further investigation led authorities to search Braggs’ home on Wellman Street in Lewiston, where they discovered over four pounds of cocaine, trafficking materials, and $25,300 in suspected drug proceeds.

Braggs was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs (cocaine).
