RENO, Nev. — Federal immigration officials are continuing their targeted enforcement efforts in Northern Nevada, with a recent arrest highlighting their ongoing operations.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the arrest of Leonardo Silguero-Jiminez, a 23-year-old Mexican national, in Reno. According to ICE, Silguero-Jiminez had previously been deported and has a criminal record that includes an illegal re-entry conviction, a drug conviction, and known gang affiliation with the Paisas gang.

ICE emphasized that its enforcement efforts are aimed at removing individuals with serious criminal backgrounds who pose a potential threat to public safety. Silguero-Jiminez’s arrest is the latest in a series of actions taken by ICE in the region.
