by Sophia Bennett

Flagler County, FL — The owner of two local pizza shops, Leonard Fries Jr., 49, was arrested early Friday morning after a five-month undercover investigation led to a SWAT team raid on his Ormond Beach residence.

Fries, who owns Lenny’s New York Pizza and Lenny’s New York Pizza II, was taken into custody after authorities executed a search warrant at his home on Winchester Road. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office was joined by the FBI, SWAT, and other law enforcement agencies in the operation.

Inside the residence, detectives seized:

Cocaine

Nearly 1 kilogram of marijuana

Methamphetamine

Seven firearms

Three vehicles

More than $5,000 in cash

Various narcotics manufacturing paraphernalia

Fries is now facing multiple felony charges, including:

Armed trafficking of cocaine

Possession of marijuana, methamphetamine, hashish, and cathinones with intent to distribute

Manufacture or delivery of drug paraphernalia

Resisting arrest without violence

He was booked into the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility and is being held without bond pending his first court appearance.

Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly commented, “This poison peddler was living a pretty bougie lifestyle… Unfortunately for him, he’ll now experience a drastic downgrade in accommodations at the Green Roof Inn.”

Staly credited the successful bust to the hard work of detectives and the safe execution of the raid by all agencies involved. “If you’re dealing drugs in Flagler County—bougie or not—we’re coming for you next,” he warned.
