GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) — A Fruita man is facing multiple drug charges after police uncovered methamphetamine and evidence of distribution at his home.
On June 23, officers from the Fruita Police Department and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) executed a search warrant at 526 E Aspen Avenue in Fruita.
During the search, officers discovered approximately 74.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, along with surveillance equipment and materials commonly associated with drug distribution.
The sole resident, 49-year-old Leon Bond, was arrested and taken to the Mesa County Detention Facility. He faces the following charges:
Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine – Drug Felony 2
Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance – Drug Felony 4
Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine – Drug Felony 1
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Petty Offense
According to Fruita Police, the arrest follows a months-long investigation, including multiple traffic stops and surveillance of suspected drug activity at the residence. Authorities said over 100 grams of meth had previously been seized from individuals connected to the address.
The investigation is ongoing.
