PAINCOURTVILLE, La. — A 52-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly committing Medicaid fraud by misrepresenting his income to receive benefits he was not eligible for.

According to an affidavit, Lenroy Brown earned $169,772.67 between 2021 and 2023 but failed to disclose this income to the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH). Despite this, Brown received $16,758.03 in Medicaid benefits.

The Louisiana Bureau of Investigation took action after receiving a complaint from the LDH last year. Brown was charged with one count of government benefits fraud and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
