ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WMBF) — A second South Carolina man has been arrested in connection to a recent armed robbery in North Carolina, according to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.
Legend Reed, 20, of Sumter, turned himself in on Thursday and is set to be extradited to North Carolina at a later date. Reed is facing multiple charges, including:
Felony conspiracy
Robbery with a dangerous weapon
Second-degree kidnapping
Misdemeanor assault
The charges stem from a February 21 robbery at Bill Cox’s Grocery store in Lumberton, where three men allegedly robbed the store and assaulted its 90-year-old owner.
The first suspect, 24-year-old Cionte Owens, was arrested in Sumter on March 3. Officials confirmed that he waived extradition and will be transported to North Carolina for his first court appearance.
Authorities are still searching for the third suspect, 32-year-old Jeremy Sealey, also from Sumter. Sealey is wanted on the same charges as Reed and remains at large as of Friday.
Deputies urge anyone with information on Sealey’s whereabouts to contact the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.
