SHAWANO (WLUK) — A 38-year-old Shawano man, Lee Lindner, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison and 17 years of extended supervision for his role in two fatal fentanyl overdoses and large-scale drug trafficking across Shawano County.
Lindner pleaded guilty on May 28 to multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree reckless homicide, conspiracy to deliver fentanyl, and several counts of manufacturing and delivering amphetamines and methamphetamine.
According to prosecutors, between January and June 2023, Lindner conspired with at least six others to obtain and distribute more than 100 grams of fentanyl in Shawano County and nearby areas.
Investigators also found that from 2019 through 2023, Lindner distributed large quantities of methamphetamine, maintaining an active drug trafficking operation.
In April 2023, Lindner supplied fentanyl to a man who then transported it to the Menominee Indian Reservation, leading to a fatal overdose. Just a month later, he delivered another batch that caused a second death.
Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul said in a statement, “Those who distribute dangerous narcotics put the safety and well-being of others in jeopardy and, as this sentence shows, can face serious consequences.”
Lindner’s conviction includes charges for possession with intent to deliver narcotics, receiving stolen firearms, and maintaining a drug trafficking place.
