ROCHESTER — Lawrence James Hamilton, 41, has been charged following allegations that he threatened to shoot a woman at the Falcon Landing Apartments on September 13.
According to court documents, Hamilton drew a black handgun from his pants pocket and threatened a female adult during an argument with her juvenile brother in a hallway. When officers arrived, they spoke with the siblings. Hamilton then returned to the scene and was arrested.
A search warrant for Hamilton’s apartment uncovered a black handgun later identified as a BB gun, along with two boxes of 9mm ammunition.
Hamilton has a history of violent offenses, including five felony domestic assault convictions and one second-degree assault conviction, with most offenses occurring in Hennepin County and one in Martin County.
Hamilton appeared in court on Monday and is scheduled to return on September 25.
